The Mediation Center of Greater Green Bay is a non-profit organization that provides dispute resolution services with professionally trained volunteer mediators. We mediate a variety of issues such as small claims, evictions, and family issues involving minor children. The center was established in 1998. Small claims and property owner/tenant disputes were conducted at our first office in downtown Green Bay. Property owner/tenant mediations continue to be held at the Brown County Courthouse on Tuesday afternoons.
In 2018, family mediations, involving minor children, were added to our range of services. In August of 2021, we relocated to our current office at 2611 Libal St. in Allouez. A contract with Manitowoc County began in 2022 to conduct family mediations. Currently, over 95% of our mediations are ordered by the Brown and Manitowoc County Court Systems.
Mediation Success Rates: Among the Best in the U.S.
- More than 14,000 mediations have been conducted since 1998.
- 85% of property owner/tenant disputes have resulted in legally-binding agreements that have avoided tenants having an eviction on their records.
- Family mediations have a 89% success rate in establishing positive placement arrangements for minor children while also ensuring that both parents have an ongoing role and relationship in the lives of their minor children.
What’s new at the Mediation Center?
Welcome our newest team member!

Sara Valdes is our new family support specialist. She’ll be assisting our Family Program Manager, Anita, three days each week.
Get to Know Sara: As a long time resident of the Green Bay area, I am proud to serve as the Family Mediation Program Support Person. My BS in Psychology from UWGB, reinforced my belief that counseling and mediation play a vital role in creating understanding and resolution. I am honored to carry on that knowledge to assist the people of our community in navigating conflict and finding constructive paths forward. When I am not working, you’ll find me spending time with my fiancé and two daughters, cheering on the Packers, coaching gymnastics, and enjoying the company of furry friends.

The Mediation Center participated in the Brown County Volunteer Expo on Sept. 16, 2025. We were able to meet and speak with Brown County residents who are interested in becoming volunteers. This is one way that we find people to train as volunteer mediators.
