
2024 Spring Mediation Training Information
Date: April 8, 9, 10, and 11
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 PM
Location: The Mediation Center of Greater Green Bay, 2611 Libal St., Green Bay, WI. 54301
The Mediation Center of Greater Green Bay is a non-profit organization that has provided dispute resolution services with professionally trained volunteer mediators since 1998. We mediate a variety of issues such as small claims, evictions, and family issues involving minor children.
Training fee: $250
The fee is waived if the trainee agrees to voluntarily mediate for the Center at least twice each month going forward. Please submit fee along with your application if you’re training for personal or professional reasons and not to volunteer at the Mediation Center.
Training Program: This program meets the ACR Wisconsin’s (FKA the Wisconsin Association of Mediators) recommended Model for Basic Mediator Training. A certificate of completion will be provided to those who complete the classroom training.
The program will include the following components:
- Theories of Conflict and Conflict Management
- Overview of the Mediation Process and a Mediation Demonstration
- Understanding of Individual Responses to Conflict
- Mediation Step-by-Step
- Ethical Practice of Mediation
- Coached Role Plays
- Understanding the Sources of our Mediation Referrals
- Ensuring Quality of Process and Understanding Procedures
- Exploring Specific Types of Mediation (including small claims, eviction, and family issues involving minor children.
Participant Limit: Limited to 10 trainees.
Cancellation Policy: Please be mindful of the interest shown in the program by providing notice of cancellation as soon as possible to allow time for others to apply.
Trainer: Anita Altman ~ She is an experienced mediator and Family Program Manager for the Mediation Center.
