Ron Niesing, President
I was initially drawn to the Mediation Center because I wanted to help people as they face various types of disputes in their lives. Being able to bring parties together to a mutually agreed upon solution to their disputes can be very satisfying. Even in cases where agreements are not reached, each party comes away from the discussion having a better understanding of the issues and the steps necessary to resolve their differences. In addition, as a member of the Board of Directors, it is a privilege to be part of the process that ensures we stay true to our Center mission.
After a 36-year career with the Social Security Administration and a 12-year career as a benefit specialist with the Aging and Disability Centers in Brown and Door County, the Mediation Center has been a natural fit for me in continuing to work for the betterment of our community and as a vehicle to improve the lives of individual citizens. I strongly believe in giving back to the community through this and other volunteer activities. Outside of these activities, I enjoy spending time with family, travel, golf, hiking and playing competitive bridge.

David Sauvey – Member at Large
I was born in Algoma, WI, and grew up in the Bay Settlement and DePere areas. I went to Abbot Pennings High School and graduated from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri, where I majored in political science. I attended law school at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. I have practiced law in Kansas City, Green Bay, and Evansville, IN, which included seven years as in-house litigation counsel for Schneider National, INC.
Over the years, I have been involved with hundreds of mediations- everything from two-car crashes to million-dollar property damage claims. Most civil cases are settled, not tried, and mediation can be a very useful tool in reaching those agreements. Working with the Mediation Center is a way to help others while retired, and it gets me out of the house.
Ashley Phillips – Member at Large
Ashley grew up in Nebraska and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Human Relations from the University of Iowa. After graduating, she relocated to the Green Bay area, where she currently serves as the Learning and Performance Program Manager for Claritev. With a strong interest in marketing and a passion for developing impactful training content, Ashley brings a unique skill set to the Greater Green Bay Mediation Center. She believes deeply in the power of mediation as a constructive and cost-effective alternative to litigation, helping individuals navigate challenging situations with dignity and resolution.
